7 Makers We Love for Summer
Each season of our “Year of Flowers” quarterly subscription program, we give our subscribers bonus gifts from a couple makers and coupon codes to several others’ shops. Want in on the fun? Join us!
We are so excited to highlight many of the awesome makers and flower friends we meet in person at markets and online through Instagram. We think you’ll love them too.
This season, we have an awesome mix — from pressed flowers to ceramics to graphic tees with uplifting messages. We hope you love them as much as we do!
Black Sheep Goods
Ashley of Black Sheep Goods is a self-proclaimed fiberaoholic. We’re super excited about her ice dyed garments, totes, and bags. We think you’ll love these pink ice dyed mesh produce bags, perfect for the farmer’s market this summer!
Florals for Freedom
Yandi is a watercolor artist with a heart of gold. Her cheerful floral prints, notebooks, and stickers are sure to make you smile. We love that Yandi and her husband are aspiring flower farmers with a dream to open a sanctuary for exploited children.
Cyanotypes and botanical prints
A cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic processes. When cyanotype chemicals are exposed to UV light, they produce varying shades of blue. Sarah works from her studio in Southeastern PA, and we are smitten with her quiet, sophisticated designs.
Jennifer Allevato Fine Art
Paintings and prints
Whether it’s her florals, rooms scenes, or landscapes, Jennifer’s paintings capture quiet moments in loud, joyful colors. And they couldn’t make us happier! We especially love her paintings of rooms with paintings of flowers on the walls — very meta. ;)
Pressed flower prints
Karly collects all kinds of flower and plant specimens to press and preserve, transforming beautiful fresh flowers into lasting keepsake artwork. How cool is that?! Prints available on her site; originals released periodically.
Uplifting clothing, home goods, and gifts
Encouraging tees, onesies that are downright adorable, and prints that uplift — we just love Polished Prints’ “kind designs” for adults, littles, babes, and the home. We think they’ll make you smile too. :)
Small batch ceramics
Samantha’s gorgeous hand-thrown ceramic work features forms and glazes we’ve never seen before (that BLUE)! You’ll definitely want to check out these heirloom pieces for the modern kitchen and home (especially her vases)!
